Because of the importance of security and the protection of confidential patient records, Med-Center incorporates security features recommended by HIPAA and IT standards.

Password Protected Access - Access is controlled by user name and password.  The administrator may also set specific password settings to force a minimum number of characters or periodic password changes.

Multi-Level Access Privileges - The administrator has the ability to assign each person to a group or several groups such that information access is controlled and limited to specific areas in the system.

Login Access History - Every login attempt is logged in a log file for security audits.  The login period is restricted and automatically quits after five minutes without a successful login.

Activity Log Audit Trail - Log of record activity is generated when Patient Account, Encounter, or Claims are added, modified, or deleted.  Deletion control can be set such that approvals are required to delete Account, Encounter, Transaction, or EMR information.
